Nutritional Therapy is recognised as a complementary medicine and is relevant for individuals with chronic conditions, as well as those looking to enhance their health and wellbeing. It works well alongside an allopathic, traditional medical model, and where appropriate, I  co-operate with my clients' general practitioner.  Using both dietary and lifestyle modifications, we work together to optimise your body’s innate capacity for stable energy and optimal function.

Where possible, I use clinical testing to get to the root causes of the symptoms and complaints so we can address these as effectively as possible. My approach is firmly "food and lifestyle first"; supplementation is used as an ad-on tool where needed and appropriate.

I am trained in and practice Nutritional Therapy according to the Functional Medicine model. This scientific and evidence-based approach recognises the interconnected contribution of our genetic background, living environment, lifestyle, diet and emotional state in relation to our health and wellbeing.

WHY

Feeling below par is not the norm. Vibrant health, a clear mind and stable energy levels are what our everyday reality should feel like. A good nutritional status supports this, while providing us with the most potent preventative healthcare measures available.

The quality of our nutrition is directly linked to our physical as well as psychological wellbeing and health. Our state of wellness resonates to others via our mood, our stamina and our ability to function. When we feel good, energetic and self-confident, we can all thrive; at home, at work and in our daily lives.

Tomatoes are rich in antioxidant lycopene, which is good for our eye sight and the skins ability to defend against UV radiation. Enjoy these with some organic olive oil to btter absorb all this goodness.

HOW

I work from the premise of biochemical uniqueness, which makes each and every one of us different to each other. Your background story is as important to me as your signs and symptoms, as this often provides information about the origins of a condition and provides a personal context.

Laboratory testing may be recommended as part of your management plant in order to gain more information about your health or management progress. These referrals are always discussed with you beforehand and agreed upon on a case by case basis. Testing lets us look 'under the bonnet' and gain specific biochemical data about the possible roots of the complaint.

Nutritional supplementation and exercise guidance may be included in your program. The need for this is again assessed on a case by case basis and in accordance with your situation. My ethos is to work within your parameters – your background, current lifestyle and goals are unique to you and therefore the approach will be tailored to you specifically.

To obtain full health, our psychological health is as important as our physical health.  I am also a trained Health Coach, and work closely in co-operation with fully qualified, experienced hypnotherapist Cheyne Towers from Highgate Hypnosis,  who provides assistance in transforming old unhelpful habits and patterns of behaviour.

Changing age-old habits is a process. In clinical work I have seen that the best and most sustained results come with an understanding and acceptance of this idea. I work on personalised solutions and most often see clients for several sessions for optimal, sustained results. To view different packages available, please click HERE.
